: Does anyone know any websites where I can find French words which are commonly used in English e.g. rendezvous, dejavu, boutique, escargot, valet, etc.? If not, please tell me other French words which are commonly used in the English language. Thanks.
A few such words are at the site linked below (http://www.users.bigpond.com/burnside/legal.htm). Some others are laissez faire, gauche, and reveille. Many current English words come from Middle English but got there from Old French, such as "blanch."
"Deja vu" is two words. It has some accent marks.
