: : I once heard that one of the famous quotes of Winston Churchill is something like "My principle is that there is no principle." meaning that my principle is being flexible. Does anybody know if this is really a quote from Churchill? Thanks.
: I looked at the quotes in "Bartlett's" and didn't find it. I did find several inspiration quotations regarding wartime. So thanks for asking. I had a good read.
I wrote a sketch about Churchill and did a fair amount of research before finalising it. I cannot trace the "principle" reference.
Never, in the field of phraseboard research, was so much, owed by so many, to so few.
