: : Does anyone know where the phrase "got the red ass" might have come from. It is used to connote someone getting his dander up, i.e., "He got the red a s s and began telling everyone off". ANY help would be appreciated. I am in Louisiana and I think that it might be a regional saying. Has anyone else heard this one before?
: I'm from Boston and I never heard that so I am assuming its regional. Educated guess though, guessing its along the lines of "that really burns my ass" which would give one a red a s s and seams to fit the usage.
