: Although the phrase "raised by wolves" usually means uncivilized and without manners, my mother prefers the original meaning. As she always says, wolves have quite a good reputation for raising children, consider that Rome was founded by Romulus and Remus, twins who were raised by a she-wolf.

Romulus did kill his brother, though; I'd say murder is a pretty uncivilized and certainly a mannerless act.
