: "boys shouldn't squander their meagre resources by hazarding them on the comparative velocities of canine or equine quadrupeds" (supposed to be a joke)

The first is almost self-explanatory!
You may be big in stature but you are small in spirit.
Since the Second Vatican Council it is not as difficult to be a Catholic as it was prior to the
Council.
Don't spend your money betting on the dogs and the horses at the racetrack!
The men were singing rebel ( IRA ) or nationalist
songs!
