Thanks. I was thinking it might mean a really huge moon hanging low in the sky like you see sometimes over water. That would also give off a very bright light so that would make sense.

: I think it is the same as the "Hunter's Moon" that occurs in October. It was named the Hunters moon because the bright light helps hunters see during the night which could also benefit a sailor.
: I am not 100% on this so maybe someone else has the whole nine on it.
