: "The Proverbs & Epigrams of John Heywood," A. D. 1562. I want to put this book on my Christmas list because it is frequently quoted and it would be nice to have the original source. The problem is, I've done searches on used book sites and have gotten prices ranging from $1.50 + shipping for a used hardback to $115 for a reprint to $300. What's the deal here? Is there more than one version or what?
Did I ever mention my very first paycheck was earned working as an assistant library technician? :)

I'm sure there are many more editions. I didn't look very hard. I don't have ISBN info for the last three, but you should be able to get that information and more from Bowker's Global Books In Print. I don't have an account, or I'd do the search for you. You could ask your local library.
