: RICHER THAN DAVY CROCKETT - " 'I am richer than Davy Crockett,' says (Harry) Anderson, 50. 'I can settle back and do what I want to do. And what I want to do is card tricks and magic.'" People magazine, Where Are They Now? October 21, 2002.

: Anyone heard this phrase?

I doubt it. Davy Crocket (or is it Crockett?) was a frontiersman, not particularly associated with having a load of money. Perhaps he really meant 'as rich as Creosus'-who was a rich King.
