: : Hey, I know this is a totally different discussion, but I was wondering if someone could help me with the meaning of the phrase "in vino vertes"????
: : Someone was asking me, and I feel like I should know what it means, but I don't...
: : Can anyone help?

: "in vino veritas"

: Latin expression meaning that when you drink alcohol you tend to get loose and sometimes say things you normally wouldn't say had you not imbibed.
: Literal translation= "Truth in wine"

In the words of Bob Seger:

Wally's gettin' anxious thinkin' 'bout tonight
Bruce is all spiffy, lookin' wicked lookin' right
Eddie's getting' spruced
And Donna's gettin' loose
They're passin' round the bottle
And they're gettin' good and juiced
