Any large mammal will make a big puddle. I'm guessing that horses got the honor of having this function named for them because they were once common sights even in cities. Besides, horses are tall. The act is more dramatic in a horse than, say, a hog because the animal's urinary opening is farther off the ground.

Why a RACEhorse? I don't know; in fact, the simple "p*** like a horse" traditionally suffices.
