Phrases from "Scrubs"
Posted by ESC on October 24, 2001
I'm "off" TV for the most part. But there is a new series that's excellent -- Scrubs. Tuesdays at 9:30. It's a dark comedy.
Last night I got two new phrases from this show:
1. An expression of surprise and dismay -- "What in the name of
'Are You There God. It's Me Margaret' are you doing?"
("Are You There..." is the title of a children's book.)
2. A medical billing term -- a "wallet biopsy," the practice of determining the patient's ability to pay before performing life-saving tests and procedures.
Last night's (Oct. 23, 2001) episode was about trying to get an expensive test done on a woman who didn't have good insurance. (See phrase No. 2.)
Next week's show (Oct. 30) is titled, "My Bad." Another phrase.
Great show. www.nbc.com/ Scrubs/
