Reserve Champion

In equestrian competitions, a rider enters an event that consists of 4 seperate showings. For instance, walk/trot, figure 8, canter and jumping.

The rider is scored on each individual showing on a scale of 1-6.

All the scores for each rider are averaged and the highest is the Grand Champion and the second highest is the Reserve Champion.

This is from my youngest who has been competing since she was 8 here in NY so maybe in other parts of the country the scoring may be different but I would think not for the sake of competitive standards.
