: progidal son, prodigal son, I don't even know how to spell it.
Where did it come from, what does it mean?
It's a story from the Bible - The New Testament. See the Gospel
of Luke chapter 15 verses 11-24.
It's a parable which reaffirms that eternal truth which children
should never forget "Home is that place to which you may always
return and they'll feed you, wash your dirty linen and put you up
for the night."
As an aside it's just occurred to me that 'put you up' is a phrase
of whose origins I know little.
