"Safire's New Political Dictionary" by William Safire (Random House, New York, 1993).

kitchen-sink drama
A theatrical genre that included John Osborne's Look Back in Anger and the plays by Arnold Wesker using working-class settings rather than the drawing-rooms of polite comedy. As modern dramatists enlarged their settings to cover many different environments the description no longer seemed appropriate. (See also Angry Young Men.)
