: That's from an early Bruce Springsteen song called "Blinded by the Light" . It was originally recorded by Springsteen but became a hit when it was covered by Manfred Mann's Earth Band, and the Springsteen version now gets a lot of play on "classic rock" radio.

I just listened to the album version of the song on Napster, and the quote you're asking about doesn't occur in that version of the song. The lyrics to that song consist of the following repeated in various combinations:
('cause) We're on a building site
We're gonna build a love to night
Give it to me
Give me your love tonight
Is that the right song?
