Decimal 'point' vs decimal 'comma'Posted by James Briggs on August 23, 2004
This is also a bit off topic, but is does seem to refelect a difference (another one!) between the English speaking and the rest of the world. In the English speaking part there is an overwhelming use of a 'point' as a decimal separator. Likewise, a 'comma' is used as a thousands separator. In most, if not all, of the rest of the world it's round the other way. Why? Any idea of the background? This situation has |
