I am sorry to be so late answering. I rely on the main Library in Paris for the Internet access. As you may know it, they have in France a favorite game named "strike". Due to a strike (the security staff), the National Library is closed until further notice ! Yippeeeeee, "Vive la France". So if you don't see me around, you know the reason.
For ANNETTE, you are right, this is correct way to pronounce, "annett" or "a-net" are fine. First names in France are usually based on the names of the Saints. Almost one different for each day of the year. ANNETTE is made out of ANNE. ANNETTE wasn't a Saint (lots of girls aren't, fortunately !).
Many other first names had been built just adding TTE to an original Saint's name:
JEANNE JEANNETTE
CLAUDE CLAUDETTE
PIERRE PIERRETTE
LOUISE LOUISETTE
MARIE MARIETTE
I don't know all of 'em...
