: : what is the meaning of hosepipes? : Hosepipe is the British term for the garden hose, the flexible hose that attaches to the water supply of the the building so that people can water their gardens. In a hosepipe ban, Britons are not permitted to water their gardens so as to conserve water. This is a public service announcement. There's danger everywhere. Consumer Reports magazine had a brief about the dangers of drinking from a garden hose. Some are made of materials that leach chemicals into the water. Always let the water run for a bit before drinking. |
